Join Us for a Month-long "Buycott"
Inspired by the Montgomery Bus Boycott, a "buycott" makes our voice heard through the power of our collective wallets!
Our economic resistance has always been rooted in purpose! As programs like DEI are dismantled, we're doubling down on supporting businesses that honor our history, hire us, and respect our buying power.
Let's move our money with intention and invest in those who invest and hire us. Use the maps below to find and do business locally.
Join us by shopping at all of the Black-owned businesses in each of the cities below.

Annual Juneteenth Cookout
We're closing out strong with our annual Juneteenth Cookout! Come through for the food, the music, and the joy that only we know how to create, even in the face of struggle. This is more than a party. It's a declaration that we're still here and rising and know how to turn pain into power. Bring your squad, your appetite, and your dancing shoes. It's time to celebrate freedom, resistance, and us!

Michigan United and our partners request the honor of your presence at our June 17 Celebration of the Life of Rev. Jesse Louis Jackson, Sr. The event is part of our Juneteenth activities and will be held at Liberty Temple Baptist Church, 17188 Greenfield in Detroit.
Upon the passing of the Reverend Jesse L Jackson Sr, the impact of his legacy came into sharp focus. Cities across the nation celebrated Reverend Jackson’s life. Dignitaries from every walk of life lined up to praise the significance of his work.
The impact of his work was felt across Michigan, through Rainbow Push and the fight for minority-owned businesses, during the ‘ten demands’ era and in the never-ending battle for civil rights. People without a direct tie to Jackson still felt they knew him because of his ability to connect.
This is our celebration - a chance to share our unique connection to and honor the life of our late, great leader, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr., - the man who kept our hope alive.
